Renowned novelist JK Rowling joins in the fun of successful Bring Your Dog to Work Day

The nation’s pet owners, including Harry Potter novelist JK Rowling, ensured that the 11th annual Bring Your Dog to Work Day on Friday was a huge success, as thousands shared pictures of the big day on social media.

JK Rowling posted a picture of her two dogs on X (formerly known as twitter), saying: “My dogs live at work with me, so here they are being an immense help to my creative process.”

Jo Amit, co-founder of HOWND and the Bring Your Dog to Work Day initiative, was pleased with the outcome of the day.

She said: “The annual event was a resounding success once again, with thousands of social media accounts sharing fabulous photos of their dogs at work.

“This joyful national celebration has grown over the last 11 years, allowing countless dogs to accompany their owners in a wide array of professions across the country.

“From ambulance workers to helicopter pilots, and even the renowned Harry Potter novelist JK Rowling, everyone joined in the fun, making it a truly memorable occasion.”

The official website www.bringyourdogtoworkday.co.uk received tens of thousands of hits in the lead up to the big day, and over the years the event has had coverage in The Sun, The Mail on Sunday, Lad Bible, Waitrose Weekend, The Mirror, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent and hundreds of  media titles, with ITV The Lorraine Show, BBC and other broadcasters and media outlets covering the nation’s favourite day out for dogs.
