Cambridge's PitPat and Woodgreen Pets Charity join forces

Cambridge-based pet technology leader PitPat and Woodgreen Pets Charity, home of Channel 4’s hit series ‘The Dog House’, have announced a partnership that empowers pet owners to make a choice with their purchases.

This collaboration is a response to the growing trend in consumer behaviour, where people seek greater influence over their purchasing decisions and prefer to support ethical and charitable initiatives.

Recognising this shift, PitPat’s latest campaign offers consumers a unique opportunity to directly impact their community while choosing the best option for themselves. From the 3rd to the 30th of June, customers purchasing the subscription-free PitPat Dog GPS Tracker can choose between two options: receiving a £20 discount on the tracker or paying full price, with PitPat donating £20 to Woodgreen Pets Charity on their behalf. This initiative not only enhances pet safety but also supports the vital work of Woodgreen Pets Charity in animal welfare.

“We are proud to partner with Woodgreen Pets Charity to offer our customers a meaningful choice,” said Julian Neal, Marketing Director of PitPat. “We’re unsure what the mix of those choosing to donate versus those deciding to take the discount will be. However, we expect most customers will choose to donate. Interestingly, if a customer really wants the best value GPS Tracker, we know we’re the answer as we’re the only Dog GPS Tracker with no costly monthly subscription to find your dog.”

Woodgreen Pets Charity has been a cornerstone of animal care and rehoming services in Cambridge for years. Their extensive range of services includes rehoming pets, providing specialist care to pets in need, and offering expert advice and support to pet owners.

"Chris Bennett, Head of Community Programmes and Partnerships at Woodgreen Pets Charity, said: “This collaboration with PitPat will help us raise crucial funds to support our vital work in local communities. Last year, we supported over 4,800 owned pets by providing free health checks, supplying local food banks with pet food, and giving advice and practical support to pet owners, so that we can keep more pets in their homes and with their people.”

The PitPat Dog GPS Tracker is a subscription-free device offering real-time tracking and activity monitoring for dogs. In 2024, PitPat aims to raise £10,000 to support Woodgreen Pets Charity’s Community Services team, which provides essential advice and assistance to pet owners to prevent medical and behavioural issues. This partnership integrates PitPat's advanced activity monitors into Woodgreen’s outreach program, helping track exercise, manage weight, and monitor health conditions. These insights prevent health complications, reduce costly vet bills, and keep pets healthy. By donating, customers will directly support Woodgreen Pets Charity’s mission to provide essential services to pets and people in need.
