Twelve new jobs will be created when a Lincoln pet store's £271,000 makeover is unveiled in March.
The Pets at Home store on Tritton Road has been undergoing a refit since January 6.
As part of the quarter of a million pound development, the store is set to gain a Vets4Pets veterinary service.
It will play host to a full operating theatre, digital X-ray facilities, an in-house laboratory and a hospital ward.
A groom room will also be added for pooches in need of a pamper. This will offer grooming for all types of dog, plus bath and blow dry facilities and nail clipping.
And a dozen new posts are being created to provide the vet and grooming services.
Store manager Vicki Coombs said: “We’ve listened carefully to what our customers have been telling us and we’re confident the store’s new layout will be just what they want.
“Our mission is to ensure pets live a happy and healthy life and the addition of a grooming salon and vet surgery means our customers will now find everything they need to care for their pets under one roof."
