Kent fire crews had to take swift action to rescue animals after a fire at the Pets at Home store in Aylesford.
Police and two fire engines were called to the store in South Aylesford Retail Park after reports of a blaze at the retail unit.
It took the teams two hours to get the fire under control which is believed to have started in some pallets at the rear of the building.
Crews used two hose reels to protect other buildings and a jet to extinguish the fire. The outside rear of the property was badly damged but there was only very slight smoke damage inside the building.
It is believed that no animals were injured and there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is now being investigated.
