Tibetan Mastiff puppy sells for $1.9 million in China
A property developer in China has paid a staggering 12 million yuan ($1.9 million) for a Tibetan mastiff puppy, making it the most expensive dog ever.
The one-year-old, golden-haired mastiff was bought at a “luxury pet” fair in the eastern province of Zhejiang, the Qianjiang Evening News reported.
The buyer, a 56-year-old property developer from Qingdao, hopes to breed dogs himself, according to the report. Another red-haired canine had sold for 6 million yuan ($ 968,500 million) at the fair.
The title for the most expensive dog sale was previously held by a red mastiff named “Big Splash” reportedly sold for 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) in 2011.
