A Dundee man is to stand trial accused of stealing a snake from an exotic pet shop. Bruce Webster is accused of stealing the snake, two reptile tanks and associated paraphernalia, as well as £165, from the Strictly Exotics store in the city's Albert Street. He also faces a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards Euan Melville and assaulting him at the store two weeks after the alleged theft. Webster, 52, who also lives on Albert Street, pleaded not guilty to three charges at Dundee Sheriff Court. The offences are said to have been committed on March 14 and March 31 last year. Fiscal depute Laura Bruce said that CCTV evidence would be produced in the case. The trial is expected to start next month.
