An animal lover, who lost her job after 12 years, is starting a new business – by opening up her home to pets.
Forty-year-old Lisa Sinden has set up Paws 'N' Beaks, a pet-sitting service in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, after being made redundant earlier this year.
Lisa, who lost her job in March, specialises in parrots, dogs, cats and smaller animals, but is willing to try her hand at anything.
And if she finds she needs any extra help, her five-year-old African grey parrot Ollie will be on hand to assist. Last year Ollie appeared on BBC's The One Show.
Lisa said: "I am an animal lover and want to see the best for pets.
"The services I offer are dog walking, small animal sitting, pop-in house visits, medication visits, parrot boarding, cat sitting, vet visits, and a pet taxi.
"I am applying for a licence to board dogs so that will be in the
future. The business has only been going for a couple of weeks and it seems to have been received quite well.
"Any pets are welcome here. The pets will get walks and feeds and be well looked after. Some people don't like leaving their pets in kennels these days."
Her business was given a helping hand thanks to the Government's New Enterprise Scheme which supplies business mentors and some financial support.
And Lisa's message to pet owners is simple: "If you really love your pets and want an alternative place for them to stay then give me a call."
