Birds and small animals were saved after a massive blaze gutted Blooms Garden Centre in Cardiff last night (Wednesday).
Firefighters took five hours to put out the fire and early estimates suggest that over half of the building was destroyed.
An adjoining PamPurredPets store escaped the blaze and the animals unharmed.
A PamPurredPets spokesperson said: "We were very lucky that our store hasn't been affected although checks are still being carried out. There were a number of birds and small animals in the store at the time of the blaze and they were unharmed and are now being moved to other stores. Our thoughts are with the garden centre."
An investigation is being carried out into a blaze at The Garden Centre Group-owned, which happened at around 10pm.
Nearby homes were evacuated but No one was injured.
