Whiskas named household Pet Product of the Year

Whiskas, the brand behind the Tasty Textures and Oh So cat food ranges, has been awarded this year’s ‘Household Pet Product of the Year’ in the annual Superbrands survey.

The independent league table identifies the UK’s strongest brands and is based on the opinions of marketing experts, business professionals and thousands of British consumers.

Helen Davis, Whiskas Portfolio Manager, Mars Petcare, said: "We are extremely proud that Whiskas has been recognised as a Superbrand in the Pet Product category.

"This is an incredible achievement and is a demonstration of our commitment to understanding cats and their instincts. We are delighted that owners across the country love and continue to choose our products.”

Whiskas leads the way in the cat food market and remains the biggest cat brand in the UK. Whiskas Tasty Textures Bite 'N Chew accounted for a third of total cat wet single serve growth in the past 12 months and since its launch in February 2012 is now worth £14.1 million.

The popularity of Whiskas Tasty Textures has also led to the extension of the range with Lick 'n chew launching in January 2013 as the brand continues to introduce new flavour variants and formats inspired by what cats would naturally choose.
