The promotion, which starts today (10 July) and will run until 6 August, is supported with themed marketing materials and POS including shelf talkers, hanging signs, posters and gondola ends to help retailers create in-store theatre and draw attention to the category.
For £1, shoppers will be able to buy a variety of bagged treats including Felix Crisipes Beef & Chicken 45g, Dreamies Cheese 60g, Go Cat Crunchy & Tender Beef 325g and Dentalife Cat Dental Salmon Treats 60g.
A range of dry food, including the Bakers Small Dog Food Beef & Vegetables 1.1kg and Go Cat Turkey & Vegetable 825g, will be available at £2 a box and a variety of 12pk Felix food pouches on 2 for £6.
Nisa wholesale category controller, Phil Hancock, said: “The average pet care shopper visits their local convenience store 20 times a month and typically spends around £11.19, making them very valuable customers.
“The pet food category is a key need for our shoppers and convenience is delivering growth in this area.
“Whilst pet food is an all year-round necessity for owners, a lot of shoppers stock up on good deals when they see them. In fact, according to research1, 47% of pet food shoppers buy on promotion, so providing our retailers with exciting and good value deals will help increase basket spend.”
