Pets at Home on Watchdog...for the second time in three years
|
The BBC1 hit consumer show Watchdog has gone undercover at Pets at Home "with shocking results" for the second time in less than three years and its findings will be revealed at 8pm today (Thursday)...
The pet superstore chain was featured on Watchdog in 2012, and it's believed there will be more disturbing revelations in this evening's programme. At the end of last Thursday's show main presenter Anne Robinson said: "Pets at Home: we go undercover with shocking results." And the programme makers tweeted: "Tune in next week for Pets at Home, Uber and more #RogueTraders."
Pet Trade Xtra contacted Pets at Home for a reaction but a spokesperson said: "We've not made any public statements." It has been a difficult few weeks for Pets at Home, who saw its main investor Kohlberg Kravis Roberts sell half its shares last week, prompting a fall in the company's share price.
US buyout firm KKR sold 108 million shares, or 21.6% of the business, at 267p a share leaving it with a 24.6% holding. Following the sale shares in Pets at Home, which runs 400 pets stores and 338 vets' practices, slipped 3%. Pets at Home last appeared on Watchdog in September 2012.
