Pet Blood Bank was on hand to receive a cheque for £1,075 at the annual CSJ Charity Retriever Test in Fife.
Having raised £900 last year CSJ and the organisers, led by Alison Sorley (Secretary for the CLA Scotland Gundog Team), were keen to achieve even more and worked hard to ensure its success.
The money was raised in a number of ways including entry fees, an auction and a popular ‘Guess the whisky’ competition – sadly not a tasting competition, but one in which a bottle is wrapped and entrants guess the brand blind.
The annual event attracts top handlers from far afield and this year’s first places went to Tom Smith with Cynhinfa Nelson (puppy); Sandilands with Abergowans Blake (novice); and Dick Sorley with Kenmilquin Durie of Denbank (open).
CSJ thanked everyone concerned and especially Mr Gerard Eadie CBE for hosting the event; Alison Sorley, who works so hard to make it so successful; and this year’s judges Roger Meldrum, Ally Kennedy, Annette Usher and Ann Faulds.
