Pets at Home has announced plans to open a store at New Hall Hey Retail Park in Rawtenstall, Lancashire.
The retailer has submitted proposals to Rossendale Borough Council for new retail signage at unit A2 at the retail park.
Planning documents show that the store will also include a Groom Room and Vets4Pets as part of the store.
The pet store is the second retailer to confirm its plans to open at the retail park, which has been empty since its construction in 2007.
Retail giant Marks and Spencer announced plans to open a Simply Food store on the site back in December, and is set to open some time in late summer to coincide with the closure of the Accrington store.
Rossendale council leader Alyson Barnes welcomed the development.
She said: “I’m delighted that the unit is going to be occupied after sitting there empty for all those years.
“More information will start to come through over the next few weeks.”
Pets at Home has already advertised a position for a Dog Grooming Stylist position in Rawtenstall on its website, but it is not yet known when the store could be open.
