For research shows that these are the unluckiest names for our pets. Smokey, Oscar and Kitty are also among the monikers that are bad luck for cats. For dogs, there is also Monty, Barney and Benji. The results have been revealed by Saga Pet Insurance, which also shows what are the most popular names for our pets among the over 50s. Records show that pets with these names have had an unusually high amount of claims/vet visits compared to other cats and dogs with a popular name. The figures show that dogs called Megan are three times as likely to have a pet visit as the average dog.
