PIF announces accreditation for overseas trade show funding

The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) has today received confirmation that it has successfully been accredited for the UKTI’s Trade Access Programme (TAP), and will now work with UKTI to develop and deliver a programme of customer support at international trade shows.

TAP provides funding in the form of grants for eligible UK businesses to attend overseas trade shows, which will be able to help them gain market knowledge, experience in attending and getting the most from overseas trade shows, and advice and support from trade experts.

The accreditation means that PIF will be able to lead groups at overseas trade shows, and UK pet businesses who wish to get into exports will be able apply for funding from UKTI through PIF to attend these shows.

Nigel Baker, PIF Chief Executive, said: ‘We are delighted to have received TAP accreditation from UKTI.

"As the UK trade association for pet businesses, this is a great opportunity for PIF to help companies new to export to develop their products and grow their businesses by accessing new overseas markets.

"Having spent most of my working life in pet food manufacturing, I know only too well the challenges and difficulties that can be faced pet businesses as they move into export.

"By working with PIF and our export partners, as well as attending relevant trade shows, pet businesses can help to avoid some of the pitfalls of entering an overseas market and become a successful exporter."

More details about the overseas events that PIF will be attending will be announced in due course on the export pages at www.petfederation.co.uk. For further information, contact Alexandra Baker on 01234 273933; alexandra.baker@petfederation.co.uk
