London Pet Show featured on The Apprentice last night
|
As revealed in Pet Trade Xtra last week, The Apprentice screened on BBC1 last night saw candidates tasked with selling pet products to visitors at the London Pet Show.
Picking and then selling their creature comforts to customers turns out to be harder than expected.
To give you a flavour of what happened on week four of this series, here are some quotes from last night's programme:
Brett offers his support to the rabbit community: “We need to be upbeat on what the rabbit sector has to offer.”
Vana questions the hi-vis chicken jackets: “Is it actually about protecting the chicken when they are on the roads?”
April talks about the interesting names she has given her dogs: “My first dog was a Dachshund and her name was Anastasia Edwina Jackson and I now have a Yorkie called Diva.”
Mergim tries to charm the customers with his animal balloons: “Do you want to say hello to my giraffe?”
Claude’s thoughts on Ruth’s sales technique: “There’s a thing called golden silence in sales, where you make your pitch and then you’re quiet while the other people deliberate … she doesn’t stop talking … she confuses the customers. She’s not closing the sale. What she needs to do is to shut up a little bit more and sell that product.”
