Cat rehoused by garden centre after returning twice
Staff at a Welsh garden centre have adopted a stray cat which kept returning to the store despite being found an alternative home.
Booma – which has been given the name because it kept returning to Chepstow Garden Centre like a boomerang – has yet to leave his new chosen home.
Garden centre manager Richard Dartnell said: “We already had a cat here, called Phyllis – and we tried not to keep Booma.
“We tried to encourage him to leave but he stayed around."
Adverts were distributed around Chepstow and at the garden centre asking anyone whether they knew of any owners who could take him back – but no one came forward.
Mr Dartnell added: “We then got in touch with Cats Protection and someone adopted him. But he made an escape from their house twice and he ended up here both times. “He wanders around the shop, sits right in the middle of pathways. We have customers who come in just to see him.”
