Group55 appoints new Formulation & Development Manager

Group55 has appointed Kate Horton as its new Formulation & Development Manager.

Kate is an expert in both animal and personal care formulation chemistry and she will lead her team in developing bespoke products, not just for Group55’s in-house brands such as Animology, but for many well-known retailers and brand owners around the world for whom the company provides private label solutions.

To complement and enhance the state of the art laboratory at the new Group55 head office, a full testing laboratory has also been installed and Kate will be using her experience in compatibility and stability testing to manage the facility as it tests both Group55 developed products and those from external customers who will use Group55’s independent testing services.

Finally Kate has an in-depth understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, an area, when it comes to animal cleaning solutions, the pet industry is particularly ignorant about. Kate will continue our industry leading work in advising our private label customers in order that their products are formulated, labelled and supported in accordance with relevant EU legislation.

Stephen Turner, Group55’s Managing Director, said: “Kate is an expert with a very rare skillset and knowledge base and I am thrilled that she accepted the opportunity to join Group55. The rapidly growing team at Group55 is delivering outstanding levels of service and business growth and I am excited to see how Kate’s contributions can take the business further.”

Of the appointment Kate commented: “The opportunity to join such an innovative company with state of the art facilities such as Group55 doesn’t come around often, especially in my line of work. A big passion of mine is innovation and I am looking forward to seeing what new and exciting products we can produce here.”
